Assist chefs with daily prep, basic cooking, plating, and service support in line with New Zealand Food Safety and Health & Safety at Work Act requirements.
Prepare ingredients, follow set recipes, and maintain consistent portioning and presentation.
Uphold NZ food safety and hygiene standards, including correct food storage, temperature control, allergen awareness, and cleaning schedules.
Maintain a clean, organised workstation and ensure kitchen equipment is used safely and correctly.
Support senior chefs during busy service periods, including banquets, functions, and à la carte service.
Follow internal kitchen procedures, including HACCP practices, stock rotation (FIFO), and waste-reduction guidelines.
Work flexibly and reliably across various shifts, including weekends, nights, and public holidays when required.
Contribute positively to a team-focused environment and communicate effectively with the wider front- and back-of-house teams.
Show willingness to learn, develop new skills, and grow within a professional New Zealand commercial kitchen.
