About the Role:
TAG MOTORS LIMITED trading as Tamaki Motors is an established automotive business in Auckland that is currently undergoing rapid growth and expansion.
As our business operations continue to grow, we are strengthening our internal financial and administrative functions. We are therefore creating a new Bookkeeper / Accounts Officer position within our existing business to support the increased level of financial activity and the future growth of the company.
This is a newly created role arising from the growth of the business and provides an excellent
opportunity for the successful candidate to become an important part of our expanding team.
The Bookkeeper / Accounts Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions, monitoring financial transactions and providing accurate financial information to management.
The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO / Owner, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Sales and Service Manager for operational matters relating to vehicle sales, servicing, stock, invoicing, customer accounts and other day-to-day business transactions.
The role requires a reliable, organised and detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working in a growing and fast-paced business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
? Keeping accurate financial records and maintaining and balancing accounts using manual and computerized accounting systems.
? Recording and maintaining the company & day-to-day financial transactions.
? Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
? Preparing and processing invoices, purchase orders, receipts and bank deposits.
? Reconciling accounts against monthly bank statements.
? Monitoring cash flow, payments, receivables and lines of credit.
? Maintaining account books, ledgers and financial records using appropriate accounting
software.
? Preparing and producing financial statements, budget reports, expenditure reports and other
financial analyses as required.
? Verifying recorded transactions and identifying and reporting any irregularities or discrepancies
to management.
? Following up outstanding accounts and maintaining accurate debtor and creditor records.
? Maintaining supporting documentation for financial transactions.
? Assisting with payroll records and other routine financial administration where required.
? Preparing financial information and documentation relating to business tax obligations, including GST paid and collected, where required.
? Assisting management with budgeting, expenditure monitoring and financial reporting.
? Preparing regular financial and accounts-related reports for the CEO / Owner.
? Liaising with the Sales and Service Manager regarding invoices, payments, sales transactions, vehicle-related expenses and other operational financial matters.
? Liaising with customers, suppliers, banks, external accountants and other relevant parties where required.
? Maintaining accurate financial records relating to vehicle purchases, sales and other business expenditure.
? Maintaining strict confidentiality in relation to the company& financial, commercial and customer information.
? Supporting management with financial information required for business planning and the continued expansion of the company.
? Performing other bookkeeping, accounts and financial administration duties reasonably associated with the position.
Pay & Benefits:
? $34.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
? Guaranteed minimum 30 hours per week.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Applicants must have either:
? An NZQF Level 4 qualification or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information
Technology or another relevant field;
OR
? At least two years of relevant work experience in bookkeeping, accounts, finance
administration or a closely related field.
The successful applicant should also demonstrate:
? Experience within the automotive, vehicle sales, retail or similar commercial environment.
? Good knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
? Experience in maintaining accurate financial records will be an advantage, not mandatory.
? Experience with accounting or bookkeeping software will be an advantage, not mandatory.
? Good understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
? Ability to perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
? Strong numerical and analytical skills.
? Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
? Good organisational and time-management skills.
? Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
? Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced and growing business
environment.
? Good written and verbal communication skills.
? A professional approach when dealing with confidential financial information.
? Ability to communicate effectively with management, suppliers, customers and external service providers.
? Ability to work collaboratively with the CEO / Owner and Sales and Service Manager.
Additional Requirements:
? Must be willing and able to start as soon as reasonably possible.
? Two satisfactory work references are mandatory..
? Applicants must be of good character and may be required to undergo appropriate pre-
employment checks.
? The successful candidate must be reliable, trustworthy and capable of handling confidential
financial information.
? Experience within the automotive, vehicle sales, retail or similar commercial environment would
be advantageous.
