    When Two Pages Are Appropriate

    A two-page resume is appropriate for candidates with extensive work histories, senior professionals applying for leadership roles, those with multiple relevant qualifications or certifications, or individuals in academic or technical fields where detailed project records are expected.

    What Never Belongs on a Resume

    Regardless of length, avoid including personal information such as age, marital status, a photograph, or references. Do not pad your resume with outdated roles, redundant skills, or irrelevant personal interests unless they add genuine professional value.

    Every item on your resume should serve a purpose. If removing a sentence or section would not weaken your application, remove it. Quality consistently outperforms quantity in resume writing.
